He is the well-known writer of “The Little Mermaid” and “Thumbelina” and he was from Denmark. In this presentation I will show you the places associated with him.

He was born in this city. In the photo you can see the house where he was born and the church where he was baptised. There is the Andersen Museum now where you can learn about him and, if you’re lucky, you can even see the lovely heroes and heroines from his stories!

. Nyhavn

He moved to Nyhavn in Copenhagen when he was 14 years old. Nyhavn is a really beautiful city. You can enjoy the view and the excellent food, which Andersen also enjoyed. There, you can also find Andersen’s house. Nowadays his former house is souvenir shop.

. Tivoli Gardens:

Near the central station, there is the Tivoli Gardens. It is a theme park which Andersen loved to go to. He had ideas for many of his stories in this park. Everyone that lives in Copenhagen know that he used to love this park so outside there is a statue of him looking at the park.
