As it was Australia Day on Jan 26 and in order to practise their story-telling skills, the students of Intermediate A were asked to create a story with Australian slang words in it (in bold print). Below is Amy and Laetitia’s presentation. Read the sentences below describing the slides in the PP presentation and see if you can make sense of their story as the girls included a lot of slang in it, hahaha! (the PowerPoint presentation is attached below to help you).

1. 10 years ago, a bloke called Bruno took care of a joey. The Joey was very friendly and quiet.
2. Bruno and the joey were good mates.
3. They had a lot of barbies.
4. And Bruno was wearing a pair of budgie smugglers each time he went for a swim with the joey.
5. But when the Joey became a boomer , the boomer used to fight Bruno.
6. And one arvo, the boomer made fun of Bruno.
7. The boomer was always whinging Because Bruno fell in love with a sheila .
8. After the sheila told Bruno she wanted to separate, Bruno made up his mind.
9. At last, they had tea together. They reconciled and lived happily ever after.
