Happy Birthday Sailing, Carolina!

On the 18th of Feb 2018, which was a wonderful day, we got up at earlier between 6 and 7 a.m. because we had registered for a free event in the Cairns Yacht Club to learn to sail.  Also, we were celebrating Carolina’s birthday.

There was four for us beautiful Latin girls: Carolina, Maria , Monica and me (Mali) and a beautiful Polish blonde called Justina.

We were very punctual and the weather was very nice that day. We checked in and decided to go sailing in a keel boat called Centinela.

We went to the boat with a nice captain and his assistant before 10 a.m. The captain told us that the previous day, they had won a sailing race. We felt very happy and celebrated their triumph.

We learned how to sail in approximately 2 hours. During the way, we learned how to move the ropes that give the direction to the boat. The ropes are identified by colors.  The moves are very fast and need to be coordinated. That’s why team work is important on the boat.

We finished  sailing in another boat called the Leitning Storm which was a catamaran. It was a fantastic day on the water!
