Magnetic Island this weekend

Still no plans for this coming long weekend? Magnetic Island off Townsville is waiting for you! Locals call it simply ‘Maggie’ as here in Australia we can’t be bothered to use long names of places and we use shorter nicknames 😉

There is a great chance that you will spot wild koalas on Maggie but, if for some reason you are not in luck, these rock wallabies will be there to say hello! 🙂

There are up to 18 passenger ferry services from the Townsville Breakwater terminal a day. With this package just go up to the ticket desk with your name and voucher and they will issue you with a return ticket to and from the island.
The Greyhound and Premier bus stops right outside the ferry terminal.
Once you get to the island, walk outside the Nelly Bay terminal and you will see a bus to Horseshoe Bay which will drop you off right outside the hostel. This takes about 15 minutes and the cost is approximately $3.00.
