Pest control

The other day, at my homestay house “the Pest Control” was done*. On that day in the morning before I Ieft home my homestay mother said ‘This morning will be very busy’.

But, after school when I came back home, it seemed that nothing had been done.

Actually I did not find any cockroaches at my home since my first day of homestay.  I didn’t know what “the Pest Control” meant really… It was on the following day that I understood the meaning.

I got up, tried to go to the bathroom and…I saw a lot of dead cockroaches all over the house, the garage and the porch… I realized I had been living with a lot of “Pests” and I was in shock.

I am not sure I wanted to find out…

*  THIS IS ACTUALLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN AUSTRALIA. EVEN VERY CLEAN HOUSES ARE LIKELY TO HAVE A FEW COCKROACHES RUNNING AROUND – AND SOME OF THEM CAN GET QUITE BIG. (CCEB)
