Traditional Swiss Italian food

  • Polenta and spezzatino are one of the most famous dishes in Ticino (the Italian part of Switzerland).
This dish is passed down for generations and consists of polenta and stew all together.
To do it, you have to prepare all the ingredients and cook them for 15 mins, then you need to cook for another 4 hours.
  • Another famous dish is Risotto Ticinese, that is simply risotto with saffron.
Most Swiss Italian chefs that cook Risotto, put also luganega with rice, so that the dish tastes better.
  • My favourite dish from Ticino is salami with cheese which is an easy dish to eat maybe in the afternoon or in the evening before dinner.
If you are going to Ticino, you should try salami and cheese, because in my opinion it’s so good to eat for a snack in the afternoon.

  1. All of them look yummy. Especially risotto looks delicious by saffron’s clear yellow. Your photos are very appetizing. I want to eat traditional dishes of various contries. Thank you.
