Sayaka: Good morning! This is Sayaka, let’s start our CCEB channel. And here is the world news.

First, we have very good news! Our dream came true at last. The Cairns Taipans won the NBL championship. The Cairns Taipans are an Australian professional basketball team belonging to the NBL. Last night’s game was decisive. They played against the Perth Wildcats. The game was very competitive, with a score of 64 to 61. The Taipans made us very happy! That’s all for now, thank you!

Now funny news. A  Ukrainian student entered a lion breeding zone. One day, Leonid visited the Cairns zoo.

He wanted to prove that we were protected by god. And then, he shouted “I am protected by gooood” and climbed into a lion’s cage. He was able to enter the cage safely. And then, he shouted again. The lion was surprised by the man’s loud voice and then it attacked him. He died in the claws of the lion. We don’t know what happened to him.The story is still a mystery.

Finally, good news.

Guillermo:

At the end of last year the Australian Government announced the increase from 19% to 32.5% in taxes on WH Visas.  This announcement meant that this year’s applicants for Australian WH Visa decreased by 5.6%.   A lot of students from the world chose other countries such as NZ, Canada or England.  For this reason the government announced again changes in taxes for 2017, reducing the WH Visa taxes to 19% again.  WH students are very important for the Australian Agricultural Sector, as they represent 25% of the workforce.

Now we ask a student in the street what she thinks about it. Let’s listen to our colleague Minji.

(Interview with Minji, the student)

Finally, a lot of students will be happy with this news and the government hopes to receive more applications for the year 2017.

From CCEB NEWS Study, this was Guillermo. See you tomorrow for another news show. Have a good day everyone and stay with us!
