A tucker story (in Aussie slang)

Australian English can be quite difficult to understand as it tends to use a lot of slang. As it was Australia Day on Jan 26 and in order to practise their story-telling skills, the students of Intermediate A were asked to create a story with Australian slang words in it (in bold print). Below is Kosuke and Bruno’s presentation. Check it out to see if you can make sense of it as they included a lot of slang in it, hahaha! (use the PowerPoint presentation to help you).

G’day.

Smorning we are going to tell you a story.

Last week we were at school talking with our mates about what to have for tea. We ended up having a blue about where to go so finally we decided to go to Macca’s on Friday arvo.

Then we were waiting for Maho for a long because she went to the dunny after she had eaten too many snags and lollies.

After we went to Macca’s, we bought some chook and sangers, but Maho didn’t want to eat with us as she was feeling crook.

Next morning we planned to go to the beach for swimming. There were many blokes and sheilas on the beach.  Bruno was very excited about swimming so he was the first one to put his budgie smugglers on and he went into the water. Then we had a barbie there and we had a quiet and chill arvo.
